One day, a wolf was chewing a bone. A piece of bone got stuck in his throat. Worried wolf approached the crane and implored-"Brother, I am dying. Have mercy upon me. God has gifted you a long beak. You alone can remove the bone from my throat."


Crane felt very pity on his condition. He did not care even for his own life. He put his beak inside the mouth of wolf and removed the piece of bone. Wolf thanked and went away.


Once, crane faced a calamity. He thought about wolf. With great hope, he approached the wolf but he was not prepared to help the crane. Crane referred to his earlier obligation. On this, wolf defiantly said "Go, go, quietly run away. Only this will be good for you. You must feel 

Crane returned dejected. He thought that it is very difficult to change one's wicked nature. One shall not expect help from him.
